Wednesday, May 14 will be one of the most power-filled days for Ohioans who want equal rights for LGBT people and families. Last year HUNDREDS of Ohioans visited their elected officials to talk with them about equal rights for ALL Ohioans regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity. Mothers, fathers, families, clergy members, and students took a day off from school or work to come to Columbus for the second annual Lobby Day. Lobby Day is always important, and this year we will be lobbying for the passage of a statewide nondiscrimination bill introduced on March 11. It's an even bigger deal to make sure our voices are heard. Don’t be late! Register before May 5 to join us on this important day. http://eqfed.org/equalityohio/events/lobby08/details.tcl

If you have a gay child, family members or friend, you are not alone. We invite you to attend our confidential, monthly support meetings where you can obtain information about your loved one’s sexual orientation while dealing with your own feelings in a warm, confidential and supportive atmosphere.
By meeting gay people, parents and family members come to realize that homosexuality is found in every ethnic and socioeconomic group. Even more importantly, they learn that stereotypical views of homosexuality have no place or validity with this group that represents a significant percentage of the world’s population.
Meetings are loosely structured and new participants are not obligated to share or speak. Just listening and attending can be a learning experience.

FOR THE BIBLE
TELLS ME SO
A Documentary Film by
Daniel Karslake
Can the love between two people ever be an abomination? Is the chasm separating homosexuals and Christianity too wide to cross? How can the Bible be used to justify hate? These are the questions at the heart of Daniel Karslake’s FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.
This provocative, entertaining film concisely reconciles homosexuality and a literal interpretation of Biblical scripture. Through the experiences of five very normal, very Christian, very American families – including those of former House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson -- we discover how people of faith handle, or sometimes tragically fail to handle, having a gay child. Informed by such respected voices as Bishop Desmond Tutu, Harvard's Peter Gomes, Orthodox Rabbi Steve Greenberg and Reverend Jimmy Creech, FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO offers healing, clarity and understanding to anyone caught in the crosshairs of scripture and sexual identity.
