"...Ingram has crafted an ode to what we really mean when we call ourselves a 'gay community'. Looking at two bars in Mississippi—one that’s about to be sold and one that’s about to reopen—the film shows us how, for people who live in rural areas, the local gay bar is the only place where people can go to be themselves and find other people with whom they have any kind of kinship."

If you have a gay child, family members or friend, you are not alone. We invite you to attend our confidential, monthly support meetings where you can obtain information about your loved one’s sexual orientation while dealing with your own feelings in a warm, confidential and supportive atmosphere.
By meeting gay people, parents and family members come to realize that homosexuality is found in every ethnic and socioeconomic group. Even more importantly, they learn that stereotypical views of homosexuality have no place or validity with this group that represents a significant percentage of the world’s population.
Meetings are loosely structured and new participants are not obligated to share or speak. Just listening and attending can be a learning experience.

Ohioans for Marriage Equality is a northeast Ohio organization that promotes equality and justice for all people and strives to ensure the right of civil marriage for all couples. Our goal is to educate the public about the discriminatory realities faced by gay and lesbian couples and to promote equal access to the rights and obligations of civil marriage for both same-gender and mixed-gender couples.
Ohioans for Marriage Equality welcomes all who seek to understand the issues facing same gender couples and who wish to correct the injustices of current legislation. We speak to organizations and groups willing to hear the message of marriage equality; raise the issue in our communities through displays and films; share information on marriage equality through an e-mail group; and network with other organizations to coordinate and compound our efforts.
