On November 17, 2011, Ohio State Senators Mike Skindell and Charleta Tavares presented sponsor testimony on EHEA to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Senator Skindell discussed the widespread discrimination faced by the LGBT community and the need for strong anti-discrimination legislation, and Senator Tavares testified about the need to make Ohio a welcoming state for all people. A large contingent of Equality Ohio staff and supporters was on hand to show support for the bill.
